THE BrainFlex Workbook: An Interactive Guide to Aging Well
(Designed for ALL seniors)

The BrainFlex curriculum is appropriate for seniors who have a preventative mindset and simply want to be proactive, as well as those that may be in the early to moderate stages of dementia, and everyone in between.

(Those in the early to moderate stage of dementia will need verbal and visual cuing to benefit from the curriculum.)

Based on the concept of ‘brain plasticity, THE BrainFlex workbook is an amazing ‘all in one’ workbook for seniors, and a wonderful resource for hired caregivers, (or home care agencies), senior living communities and families. The content provides interactive activities, recipes, exercises, and great conversation boosters too! It’s also fun for seniors to do by themselves, in their downtime or with a group of friends. The workbook goes well beyond the normal activities typically found in a ‘brain training’ workbook.

‘THE BrainFlex workbook, challenges seniors to continue learning new things, using creative, (outside of the box), thinking, while also using logic and reason to solve a variety of day to day problems seniors either have faced or are still facing.  The activities allow for self-expression and spark innovative thoughts and ideas.  Brain healthy recipes are a part of each weekly lesson, along with detailed nutritional information about their ingredients, and why they are so important to the brain and body. ‘Research and Discussion’ sheets are included in each lesson, giving seniors the ‘why’ behind the activities as well as the opportunity to stretch their minds and stay informed about various issues related to ‘aging well’. Guides for exercise, meditation/prayer, deep breathing and self-affirmations are also included. Workbooks begin with an action plan seniors create with their families (and/or doctor), and each week they have the opportunity to journal what steps they have taken towards reaching the goals in their action plan, which is structured around the four pillars of ‘aging-well’. (Nutrition, Brain Training, Social Connections, & Exercising/Meditation & Prayer.) This is also a great way for doctors to track the lifestyle choices of their patients.  In August of 2020, the BrainFlex website will be offering a ‘member portal’, which will provide members access to webinars, workshops, unique activities and resources, and more…all designed to assist them, (and their families), on their aging well journey.

Option 3 & 4

Online Classes

Each month, classes correlate with one of the ‘BrainFlex’ Workbooks.  The online classes are a lot of fun; however, due to the platforms available, we’ve had to limit the number of participants to 10 per class.             If this option is of interest to you, simply email us via the ‘contact us’ tab and we will tell you how to get started.

Member Portal

The member portal will be opened up on August 1, 2020 and is included in the monthly subscription, with or without the online class. The portal is located on the BrainFlex Wellness website and will allow members to login with a user-name and password, giving them access to additional activities and workshops, including a life-long learning lab; which focuses on learning new information.  (The purpose of this is to build cognitive reserves, which has been shown in research to be a huge player in the battle against cognitive decline.) Other information provided in the portal will include supportive resources for the care providers. *All activities from the portal will be in PDF/printable format.
